Rifle Logbook
Posted: December 01, 2008 | Last Updated: May 25, 2010

I recently (Feb. 2007) decided to make my own logbook for my rifle after looking at a few samples on the net and after not being happy with my T.R.G.T. Log Book purchase.  The T.R.G.T. is a good book, but it has two (2) things going against it.  First, it’s spiral bound, which is great for a Police SS, but not what I needed.  Second, is that it (as every other book I have seen) has many pages that I will never use in my shooting style.

I kept finding that these two items were common issues with existing sources that I could find, so below is my solution to that problem.

The PDF files were rendered from Visio files that I created the cards with and fellow shooter “Cixelsyd” on “The Hide” converted to PDF for me.

Many pages look similar to those in my T.R.G.T. book and have only been changed the slightest to what I thought made better sense in layout.  Some pages (or parts) come from other sources.  To be honest I can’t remember where exactly everything came from but searching for “Sniper Log Book” on www.google.com and www.snipershide.com found most of what is out there.

I did decide early on that loose leaf was the way to go and that “Rite in the Rain” paper was perfect for the job and went with the 4-5/8"x7-1/2" format.

The best source I have found for the parts is www.trailexplorers.com.  Their website is a little hard to navigate but they have the best prices and all the parts you will need.

LATEST VERSION:

was kind enough to reformat all the pages using Visio!  The master layered file is included in this zip along with PDF files for individual pages.  This will be the only file updated from now on when Ryan has time to add to them.  I’m leaving the 4.7 version because they are likely to print differently and one might work better than the other for you.
THANKS AGAIN RYAN!

Thank you very much - this is exactly what I was looking for. One minor request: Can you also provide A4 sized PDFs or the source documents so I can convert it myself?

Thanks again,
John

John,
The PDFs are the original files that I edit in Adobe Illustrator. They are editable so people can modify them to their needs. I always ask that people send me a version of their modded copy so I can see if I want to add them here though. smile

Could you not select A4 in the print setup (inside Acrobat) and print with 100% fill to size them proportionally?

Thank you for this information, I truley appreciate it. I am trying to learn about long range shooting with a strict degree of accuracy, and thus far, this is the most help and information anyone has shared with me. Again, THANK YOU.
